Minden, NV – The Douglas County Assessor’s Office would like to make the public aware that assessment notices have been mailed. They would like you to review your assessment notice carefully and if you have any questions or see any issues, contact their office at your earliest convenience. Verify the correct property tax cap is being applied to your property. There is a 3% cap on owner-occupied primary residences and qualifying rentals, and an 8% cap on everything else. The Assessor’s Office asks that Veterans, or any other exemption holder, make sure their exemption is on their assessment notice. If you have a property tax exemption and it does not appear on your notice, contact the Assessor’s Office and they will ensure your exemption is properly applied. Lastly, if your assessment notice was forwarded to you by the mail carrier, please call the Assessor’s Office to make sure they have your correct mailing address.
