Effective June 10, 2020, the Historic Courthouse is open to the general public and the Recorder's Office is happy to announce in-person services, including over-the-counter recording and notary services, are being provided on a first come, first serve basis. The public counter and research terminal will be open Mon-Fri 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Our office will be open through the lunch hour and electronic recording hours remain 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Notary services are limited to documents being recorded in this office. Due to social distancing requirements, it is encouraged that you call the office prior to coming in to conduct historic research.

For the safety of our employees and the public, we are asking that individuals do not enter the building if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or are not feeling well. Douglas County has provided staff with the guidance, training and equipment needed to re-open by following the operational expectations for all County facilities developed in accordance with guidelines provided by the State and Federal Government. These measures include sanitation practices, installation of plexus-glass barriers where possible, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), hand washing, signage, and social distancing.

Welcome to the Douglas County Recorder's Office!

The mission of the Recorder's Office is to record, permanently preserve, and provide convenient access to public records, with superior quality and efficient customer service. The public records located in the Douglas County Recorder's Office include documents related to real property, such as deeds and deeds of trust, homesteads, liens, easements and many others. We also record maps, mining documents and marriage certificates.

All of the services provided by the Recorder's Office are mandated by Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 247. We hope you find our website to be a good resource for information, forms, access to the public records and link to other offices. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are available to assist you in person, by phone, or by email.
