Douglas County Recorder’s Office Offers New Subscription-Based Recording Notification ServiceMinden, Nev.- The Douglas County Recorder’s Office announces it has begun offering document recording notifications via the Recording Notification Service (RNS). Members of the public can sign up for the free service on the Recorder’s Office webpage.

After completing a few simple steps, subscribers will be enrolled to receive an email alert whenever a document is recorded on an enrolled name or assessor parcel number (APN). Subscribers have the ability to enroll up to five names and five APNs per email address, as well as the ability to edit or unsubscribe at any time.

The Recorder’s website is updated in real time, as documents are recorded and indexed, and both the online search and RNS subscription service are available 24 hours a day.

The RNS software will serve as an aid to property owners who wish to monitor recording activity on their property in a timely manner, including recording of deeds, liens, refinancing, mortgages, reconveyances, and other real estate related documents. This timely notice enables property owners to take any necessary action if they believe documents have been recorded in error or without their consent. A list of frequently asked questions is available to address many questions that citizens may have about the service. Additionally, the public is welcome to call (775) 782-9025 to speak with any Recorder staff member.

The State of Nevada is a public record state and members of the public continue to be able to search recorded documents through our Online Document Search at any time; however, notification alerts are automatically sent out within approximately 48 hours of a document recording once a subscriber has enrolled in this service.
