Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)
The ACP is a Federal Communications Commission program that helps connect families and households struggling to afford internet service.  Learn more and see if you qualify.

Take the Nevada Speed Test
Your help is needed to pinpoint the region’s most unserved and underserved homes and businesses. By logging on to www.nevadaspeedtest.org, a mapping tool which measures internet speeds, we can analyze home and business connectivity to identify strategies and funding solutions to improve our regional broadband infrastructure.

Beginning in April 2022, the Douglas County School District is partnering with the county to encourage parents and all community members to take the speed test.  The goal is better internet connectivity for the entire community to do those things online that you want to do such as connecting with health care providers, remote work, streaming videos, homework, etc.  Access the flyer for more info and to learn what to do if you have no available internet service.

Federal Broadband Funding
In May 2021 Douglas County formed a Broadband Action team and began the process of developing a Whole Community Connectivity Approach to Broadband Planning.  In order to best position the County and community to receive its share of Federal Broadband funding expected to flow through the State and and other programs, the Governor's Office of Science Innovation and Technology (OSIT) is providing training resources to the Broadband Action Team.
