Douglas County Adds Two More Mini-Presentations on Stormwater Planning

Douglas County, NV – In response to strong community interest and engagement, Douglas County has added two additional community meetings to its ongoing series of mini-presentations focused on stormwater planning and management. These meetings are part of the County’s continued effort to engage residents in discussions about local stormwater needs, ongoing projects, and future funding solutions.

The sessions will be held at (new sessions in bold):

  • October 16, 2025 – Tahoe Justice Court (175 Highway 50, Stateline, NV 89449) Board of County Commissioners meeting starts at 10 a.m. The stormwater presentation will begin at 2 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. – Pinon Hills Elementary School (1479 Stephanie Way, Minden, NV 89423)
  • Monday, November 3, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. – Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School (701 Long Valley Rd, Gardnerville, NV 89460)

These additional dates complement previously announced presentations held in Gardnerville, Topaz Ranch Estates, and at Lake Tahoe. The meetings provide an opportunity for residents to learn about the County’s stormwater program, including maintenance and inspection efforts, recent grant applications, and ongoing or planned improvement projects.

Since 2018, Douglas County has completed more than 4,600 maintenance and inspection activities, removed over 33,000 cubic yards of material from waterways, and sought more than $10 million in grant funding to support infrastructure and water quality improvements. Despite these efforts, the County continues to emphasize the need for a dedicated funding source to ensure long-term sustainability of the stormwater program.

Community members are encouraged to attend a session in their area to learn more and share their feedback on stormwater management priorities and future planning.
