Douglas County Community Services Foundation Launches "Buy a Brick" Campaign for New Pickleball Complex

The Douglas County Community Services Foundation is excited to announce a unique opportunity for community members and pickleball enthusiasts to become permanent fixtures in the county's recreational landscape through the "Buy a Brick, Build a Legacy" campaign.
As part of the ambitious project to develop the Douglas County Community & Senior Center, to include pickle ball courts, the Foundation is offering residents the chance to purchase commemorative bricks that will be installed at the new Herbig Park Pickleball Complex. This initiative comes as pickleball continues to surge in popularity across the nation, with Douglas County meeting growing demand for quality recreational facilities.
For a donation of $250, supporters can purchase a brick that will be prominently displayed around the Herbig Park Pickleball Complex. Each brick represents more than just a physical contribution – it's a permanent testament to community investment in active lifestyles and recreational opportunities for all ages.
Beyond Pickleball: Multiple Ways to Contribute - The "Buy a Brick" campaign also offers various donation levels to suit different interests and budgets:
- $100 – Pathways: Bricks located in the site perimeter walking paths connecting visitors to the building and surrounding amenities
- $200 – Activity Room: Bricks placed outside the Ranch View Activity Room, the second-most desired event location
- $250 – Pickleball Complex: Bricks showcased around Herbig Park Pickleball Complex, directly supporting pickleball projects
- $300 – Senior Center: Bricks prominently displayed on the Senior Center Patio, the featured event area
- $500 – Flag Poles: Bricks showcased next to front parking lot flagpoles, allowing donors to choose which flag their brick is laid beside
The campaign follows the recent opening of the complex. Community leaders, Foundation members, and residents gathered to celebrate the progress and vision for the multipurpose facility that will serve generations to come.
Foundation Chairwoman Renea Louie noted “We are building our community, one brick at a time - The Douglas County Community & Senior Center represents a comprehensive approach to community wellness, offering spaces for recreation, youth athletics, social gatherings, and senior services. The pickleball complex is a cornerstone of this vision, recognizing the sport's appeal across age groups and its role in promoting physical activity and social connection.”
Funds raised through the brick campaign will directly support the Foundation and its important work, ensuring Douglas County residents have access to top-quality services and equipment across all the community centers in the County.
Community members interested in purchasing a commemorative brick and becoming part of Douglas County's recreational legacy are encouraged to visit the Foundation website DCCSFNV.com to download the order form or visit any community center. Each brick offers a unique opportunity to support healthy, active living while leaving a lasting mark on the community.
