Master Plan Text Update 2020

Master Plan update

Background

The Douglas County Master Plan provides guidance on the location of different types of development in order to protect public health, safety, and welfare. The current Douglas County Master Plan was first adopted in April 1996 and was last updated in 2011. The current update was started after a joint workshop in February 2016 and was approved by the Planning Commission but never adopted by the Board of Commissioners. At a joint workshop on May 23, 2019, direction was given to re-vise and finalize the plan for approval by December 2019. The minutes of the workshop are available here.
