Douglas County Adopts Zoom Webinar as the Newest Way for the Public to Participate in Public CommentMinden, NV- Douglas County updated their process for providing public comment via Zoom as meetings continue to be accessed online. Those who choose to participate and provide public comment via Zoom will need to do so through advanced registration with the Zoom Webinar feature.

The Webinar feature accommodates engagement with larger audiences and is effective in helping prevent uninvited users from accessing the session.

The process for providing public comment is available through three formats: via Zoom Webinar, by phone or written comment. The following is a guide outlining instructions for each format.

OPTION 1: JOIN THE ZOOM MEETING
This option is best fit for those who are looking for a more traditional method of public comment and/or want to provide comment on multiple agenda items. This public comment is done live, but requires you to register ahead of time to receive access into the meeting.

Directions to Join with Video:
1. Register in advance with the Zoom Webinar feature by clicking on the meeting portal, http://douglascountynv.iqm2.com/Citizens/Default.aspx

OPTION 2: CALL INTO THE ZOOM MEETING
1. Call (775) 782-9821 to obtain the meeting phone number, meeting ID and passcode (the meeting ID and passcode is different for each meeting)
2. Participants who call-in will be muted until it is time for public comment, a moderator will then unmute callers one at a time for public comment.

OPTION 3: PROVIDE WRITTEN COMMENT PRIOR TO MEETING
This is the best fit for those who may not feel comfortable on the phone or Zoom and/or for people who would like to get their public comment to the Commissioners prior to the board meeting. Written material exists in the Supplemental packet for the County Commissioners and public to see. There is no limit to how much you can write.
