Master Plan Text Amendment Survey Results Are InMinden, NV- Douglas County has released the results of a community survey on the Master Plan Text Amendment conducted in September of 2020. The survey received 1,518 views from the public, and generated input from 1,015 participants. The survey asked about Agriculture and Conservation, Economic Development, Growth Management, Land Use, Public Facilities, Services, Recreation, and Public Safety. The Master Plan text provides additional guidance on the long- term development of the County (over the next 10-20 years). The text defines current issues and needs in the community.

“On behalf of the Planning Commission we would like to thank those who took the time to take the Master Plan survey. Our hope is that the responses will provide us with some good insight as to what the people of Douglas County are hoping to see for the future of our community,” said Kirk Walder, Chairman of the Planning Commission.

A presentation of survey results will be given to the Planning Commission during their Special Meetings on October 20 and 21, 2020. Staff utilized the feedback from the survey and the community workshops in September to make revisions to the proposed Master Plan goals, policies and actions which will also be presented to the Planning Commission for consideration at the special meetings in October.
