Douglas County Shooting Range ImprovementsMinden, NV- The Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce the re-opening of the Douglas County Shooting Range located at 845 Dump Road in Gardnerville. During the closure, a “No Blue Sky” Baffle System was constructed as a major safety upgrade at the facility.

The baffle system is a necessary improvement to keep the range open. The baffle system is to keep our surrounding neighborhoods safe and further assist shooters in keeping their rounds in the intended and marked lines of shooting. Additional signage has been added at the facility to remind shooters of safety precautions and best practices while getting comfortable with the new design for the rifle range. The final safety improvement will take place in the near future when a side berm to the right/west of the rifle shooting deck will be constructed during a scheduled closure.

“Public safety is Douglas County Parks and Recreation Department’s number one goal in keeping the Douglas County Shooting Range open, affordable, and safe for both users of the facility and surrounding neighborhoods,” said Parks Superintendent, Ryan Stanton. “We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding for any inconvenience the construction presented.”
