County Manager, Tom Stone, Resigns

On January 16, 2019, Douglas County (County) received Mr. Tom Stone’s resignation as Douglas County Manager.  “Effective immediately I am resigning from my position as Douglas County Manager.  I want to thank the Board for giving me this opportunity to serve,” stated Stone.

At the December 17, 2018, meeting of the Board of County Commissioners, the Board passed a motion to have Douglas County make a conditional offer to Tom Stone as Douglas County Manager based on passing the requisite background checks and successful contract negotiations.

An item will be placed on the Douglas County Board of Commissioners agenda for February 7, 2019, to accept and ratify the resignation.  It is also anticipated that a separate item will placed on the agenda to allow the Board to discuss the vacant position and determine the best course of action moving forward.
