Douglas County Opens Community Center at the Request of Eldorado County to Take in Evacuees All Regular Community Center Activities SuspendedMinden, NV- The Douglas County Community and Senior Center is currently opening its doors as a precautionary measure at the request of El Dorado County, California to take in evacuees from the Caldor Fire. At this time, the fire has not reached Douglas County. The Red Cross will be arriving at the Community Center to assist any evacuees starting at 8:00 a.m. on August 21, 2021. The Douglas County Community Center will be suspending all programs until further notice including senior dinning. Drive through Meals on Wheels will be made available.
