Douglas County Continues to Collect Public Feedback on the Master PlanDouglas County would like to remind the public that on November 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm the Board of County Commissioners considers introduction (First Reading) of Ordinance 2019-1556-A amending the development agreement between Douglas County and Park Ranch Holdings LLC. The agreement includes the dedication and construction of Muller Parkway; changing land use designation of Park property in the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Plan to align with existing zoning and changing the Rural Residential and Agriculture land use designations on Park property in the Minden and Gardnerville Community Plans and establishing a maximum of 2,500 residential dwelling units to develop upon the receiving area. For additional information regarding the Park Ranch Holdings LLC Development agreement and/or the proposed changes to the Douglas County Master Plan the County created a webpage with frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Due to increased interest in this item the County will prepare additional staging areas in and around the historic courthouse located at 1616 8th St., Minden, NV 89423 for overflow capacity from the Board Chambers. The sound from the meeting will be livestreamed at each of these staging areas. Every member of the public who attends the meeting will have the opportunity to provide public comment to the Board on this and other items on the agenda. Public comment may also be submitted in written form, or sent electronically to the Douglas County Manager’s Office at cmadmin@douglasnv.us
There will also be additional opportunities to submit public comment during the following meetings:

November 12, 2019, regular meeting of the Planning Commission (CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Avenue, Minden, Nevada): Master Plan Amendments, including but not limited to, changes in land use for approximately 1,044 acres of Receiving Area in the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Plan and the Minden/Gardnerville Community Plan owned by Park Ranch Holdings.

December 3, 2019, special meeting of the Board of County Commissioners (CVIC Hall, 1602 Esmeralda Avenue, Minden, Nevada): Possible Adoption (Second Reading) of Development Agreement between Park Ranch Holdings LLC and Douglas County and Master Plan Amendments, including but not limited to, changes in land use for approximately 1,044 acres of Receiving Area in the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Plan and the Minden/Gardnerville Community Plan owned by Park Ranch Holdings.
Douglas County recently held public workshops at the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Center, at the Douglas County Community Center, and in Indian Hills to collect public feedback and input.
