Cave Rock Drive Pipeline Replacement Project- Phase I Update

Lake Tahoe, NV- Beginning May 2020 and occurring through the summer, Douglas County Public Works begins Phase 1 of a multi-year Cave Rock Water System Improvement Project.

Phase 1 will replace approximately 3,600 feet of the existing water pipeline along Cave Rock Drive and Winding Way between the limits of Highway 50 and Gull Court. The project also includes new fire hydrants, water valves, and water service lines.

Vehicle access along Cave Rock Drive and Winding Way will be impacted with the potential for traffic delays up to 30 minutes.
“Every effort will be made to minimize the disruption in your neighborhood,” said Douglas County Public Works Senior Civil Engineer, Rick Robillard. “We appreciate the public’s cooperation with this project and we ask you to please plan your drive time accordingly.”

Work hours are between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and are subject to change pending work conditions.

Water service interruptions are not anticipated to occur during the project however field conditions during construction could require limited shut downs. Impacts to other utilities are not anticipated.
