Assessor, Douglas W. SonnemannDouglas County Assessor, Trent A. Tholen

Trent Tholen has been a Douglas County resident for 31 years, having moved to Gardnerville in January 1992. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1999. He has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) with a dual major in management and marketing, and a minor in economics. He has been employed in the Assessor's Office since 2008 and is certified to appraise both real and personal property for taxation purposes in the State of Nevada. Trent was elected Assessor in 2018 and was sworn into office in January, 2019.

Other Positions

Trent served on the Genoa Town Advisory Board from 2013 to 2016, and was selected as chairman for his final two years. He is an active member of Carson Valley Little League, being a member-at-large and coach to two of his sons. He also coaches his sons who play for the Douglas Dirtbags baseball organization. Trent spent several years as a member of the Genoa volunteer fire department as an attack and support firefighter, and as a social member.

Recreation

Trent enjoys many sports and outdoor activities, including baseball, basketball, camping, hiking, off-roading, and just about any outdoor adventure he can do with his family.  He enjoys coaching and managing youth sports for his sons, including baseball, basketball, flag football, and soccer.
