The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Douglas County School District have partnered with the Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit to host a two-hour training for parents about safe online practices for kids and teens.
The class is free for the public to attend and will be held on Wednesday, December 15th at the Douglas County Community Center from 6PM-8PM.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn directly from Detectives who are actively trying to keep our children safe.
“Technology is always changing and child predators are looking for new ways to find victims. When children are given unfiltered access to the internet that means predators have unfiltered access to children,” said Sheriff Coverley. “Safety for our kids is every parent’s concern. I encourage every parent and guardian of young kids and teens to attend this event.”
A variety of topics will be covered ranging from how social media is used to lure kids, online safety tips, how to keep your children safe, as well as a Q & A portion.
