Recorder

Welcome to the Douglas County Recorder's Office!

The mission of the Recorder's Office is to record, permanently preserve, and provide convenient access to public records, with superior quality and efficient customer service. The public records located in the Douglas County Recorder's Office include documents related to real property, such as deeds and deeds of trust, homesteads, liens, easements and many others. We also record maps, mining documents and marriage certificates.

All of the services provided by the Recorder's Office are mandated by Nevada Revised Statute (NRS) 247. We hope you find our website to be a good resource for information, forms, access to the public records and link to other offices. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are available to assist you in person, by phone, or by email.

Index & Images Available

Images provided online are unofficial copies, as noted by the “COPY” watermark, to comply with the statutory charge of $1 per page for Official Record copies. Indexes and images for documents recorded from 1977 to the present are searchable on the website with ongoing efforts by Recorder's staff to index and load images back through September 1972. Additionally, the indexes for our historic records (prior to Sept 9, 1972) can be searched online. All recorded maps are searchable online and can be searched by Section, Township and Range. All document images recorded prior to 1977 are searchable on microfilm or microfiche and available on site at the Douglas County Recorder's Office.
