Santa is Coming to the Community CenterMinden, NV- Due to life’s current circumstances, going to the mall or having a personal visit with Santa Claus seems near impossible, but not in Douglas County!

Santa Claus heard Douglas County needed some holiday cheer and decided to take a break from his busy schedule to spend the day at the Douglas County Community and Senior Center. On Monday, December 21, visit with Santa and one of his main elves for a Drive-Through Cookies and Cocoa with Santa Event.

Bring your whole family and drive through our Christmas Lane to enjoy music, crafts, hot cocoa and cookies all from the safety of your vehicle. Don’t forget to bring your letters for Santa and join him for a special complimentary picture, socially distanced of course. We do not want to get Santa sick before his big day!

Buddy the Elf is on vacation in New York seeing his dad so he sent his Elf Cousin Doug to be part of the fun and spread Christmas cheer! Doug is so excited to meet our community because his name matches our county that he just cannot stop singing.

This event will take place in the parking lot of the Douglas County Community and Senior Center, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville, from 11am to 3pm. Masks are encouraged when interacting with Santa and the Elves. Everyone must remain in their vehicle. This event is for all ages.

We would like to give a special thank you to the local businesses who are providing their services and support to help make this event special for our kids.
- Starbucks Carson Valley Roasting Plant and Distribution Center for donating supplies for the hot cocoa
- Kim’s Donuts for donating supplies for the cookies
- Katrina from Kid Pix Portrait Studio for providing free Santa Pictures
