Douglas County is taking precautionary measures to reduce public gatherings and promote social distancing. COURTS The courts have made several changes to their schedules click here to read…/Emergen…/Court%20Order.pdf CLERK TREASURER’S OFFICE Effective March 17, 2002 • Tahoe office closed • DMV and passport transactions have been suspended • Online/drop off/mail transactions encouraged • In person transactions will be by appointment only • All banking actions, i.e. deposits and reconciliations will continue RECORDER’S OFFICE In response to COVID-19, the Douglas County Recorder’s Office will have reduced public counter hours of Monday through Friday 9am-5pm and will be closed 12pm-1pm for the lunch hour. Electronic recording hours will remain 8am-4pm. These changes will take effect as of Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Recording services are available during these hours; however, notary services for recorded documents have been suspended at this time. Those who do not wish to enter the building can use the drop-box located on the west side of the building to drop off recording packages. Please use a sealed envelope clearly marked Recorder and includes a contact name and phone number and/or email address on a separate piece of paper. The public research area is closed until further notice. Recorded documents 1975-Current can be searched and obtained through the Recorder’s website. Additionally, the Index to Official Records 1960-1972, Deeds 1859-1959, and Marriages 1955-Current can be searched online. GENERAL COVID-19 INFORMATION At this time, there are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Douglas County.
