Come introduce yourself to our new Extension Educator, Lindsay Chichester on Tuesday, January 22.

Lindsay grew up on a cattle and sheep ranch 30 minutes south of Gardnerville and was a 10-year 4-H member in Lyon County. She attended college in Oklahoma on livestock judging scholarships and obtained her higher education degrees from West Texas A&M University in Canyon, TX. She has a Master of Science in Animal Science, a Master of Arts in Speech Communication, and a PhD in Agricultural Sciences.

In 2010, Lindsay began working in Extension with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she was a member of the beef team, focusing on animal care and youth animal science. January 2016 brought her back "home" as an Extension Educator in Carson City, where she was instrumental in establishing the Carson City Fair and focused programming on social media. In October 2018, she transferred to Douglas County. Programming interests include: agricultural literacy for youth and adults, meat and food science, youth leadership, agricultural health and safety, and animal care/welfare, and agritourism. A needs assessment will also help guide Lindsay on future programming needs.

In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys four-wheeling, fishing, hunting, reading, traveling, being a foodie, and spending time with her family.
