Dougals County Social Services offers support services to county residents in need of assistance in accessing other mainstream resources beyond those provided directly by DCSS. This support can be in the form of assistance with completing applications, referrals to other agencies, screening for other services and individualized case planning and goal setting.
The office is an intake site for the Energy Assistance Program (formerly LIHEA); this means we can help you complete the application, collect the necessary documentation and send it along to EAP with a record of its submission date. We can also do initial screenings to determine if a family will be eligible for food stamps before referring them on to Nevada State Welfare in Carson City, who administers the food stamps program in our region. We assist those with unfulfilled pharmacy needs by providing access to the pharmaceutical companies' discount programs (Needymeds.com, etc.)
We always ask that you schedule an appointment so that the appropriate amount of time can be allotted to your needs. In most cases we will also require that a current DCSS application is on file.
