  • The Mission of the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Facility an agency of the Juvenile Division of the Ninth Judicial District Court is to provide for the temporary and safe custody of juveniles who are accused of conduct subject to the jurisdiction of the court who require a restricted environment for  the protection of the community and for the protection of the juvenile. pending legal action.
 
  • Within the framework of the mission, it is incumbent upon the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Facility staff to unconditionally provide for the detainee's health, safety, and welfare, in a reasonable homelike environment during the course of their detainment.  (NRS 62.180).
 
  • While in custody the juvenile detention system will support a juvenile’s physical, emotional, and social development through the following programs: Education (Douglas County School District), Physical Education, Visitation, Group and Individual Counseling, Health Care Services, Faith Based Services, and Life Skills Development.
