COURTROOM DECORUM AND DEMEANOR


Courtroom attire consists of clean clothing in good repair. Wearing of hats is strictly prohibited except in accordance with religious beliefs. This includes hats worn by men or by women. Members of the public are welcome to observe Courtroom proceedings, however, you should remain as quiet as possible during any proceeding in progress. Talking, whispering and moving around inside the Courtroom can be very distracting to the Judge, Security Personnel, the Attorneys, the Court Reporter, and the Court Clerks.

Members of the press and media are also welcome in the Courtroom. Request for use of a camera in the courtroom must be in writing and must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Audio and video recordings of the courtroom proceedings are not allowed.

Cell phones, pagers, and all other electronic equipment must be turned off before entering the Courtroom. Food, drinks and chewing gum are not permitted in the Courtroom.

Only duly authorized law enforcement personnel are permitted to possess a firearm inside this building and/or inside East Fork Justice Court’s courtroom. Members of the general public with a Concealed Weapon Permit are prohibited from possessing a firearm in the courtroom as is any bail agent or any other civilian who may legally possess a firearm. All civilians and all law enforcement personnel representing outside agencies, whether or not they are in possession of a firearm, must go through all proper security procedures required at the Security Officers’ Desk on the first floor before entering the Judicial and Law Enforcement Building.
