20.34.010 Procedures.
A. Any activity contrary to the provisions of this title is declared to
be unlawful and a public nuisance. The following procedures shall apply to
the enforcement of the provisions of this title:
1. Upon written or oral notice given to the code enforcement officer,
building inspector, or other official by a person or appropriate authority of
a violation of this title, the director, after consultation with the district
attorney and upon determining that an activity is unlawful and a public nuisance,
shall deliver to the party or parties in violation of this title, a written
order to comply with the provisions of this title within ten days or other time
frame established by the code enforcement officer of receipt of same.
2. Upon failure of the party or parties to comply with this title
within ten days of the mailing of the notice or other time-frame established
by the notice of violation and upon receipt by the district attorney of a written
statement signed by the code enforcement officer, building inspector or director
setting forth the violations, the background of the violation, the parties involved,
the date of delivery of notice to comply, and the date of inspection on which
it was determined that the party had not complied within the time limits allowed
for compliance, the case is considered referred to the district attorney’s office
for a decision concerning the filing of criminal charges.
3. Enforcement by injunction. Compliance with the provisions of
this title may also be enforced by injunction order at the suit of the county
or one or more owners of real property situated within an area affected by the

20.34.020 Remedies.
All remedies provided for by this title shall be cumulative and not exclusive.
The conviction and punishment of any person hereunder shall not relieve any
person from the responsibilities of correcting prohibited conditions or removing
prohibited buildings, structures or improvements, nor prevent the enforced correction

20.34.030 Penalties.
Any person, firm or corporation, whether as principal agent, employee or
otherwise, found to be violating any provision of this title or violating or
failing to comply with any order or regulation made hereunder, is guilty of
a misdemeanor. The person, firm or corporation is guilty of a separate offense
for each day and every separate offense during which the violation of this title
or failure to comply with any order or regulation as committed, continued or
