The Douglas County Juvenile Probation Department is located in The Douglas County Judicial and Law Enforcement Center at 1625 8^th Street in Minden Nevada. The public entrance to the building is at the North side of the building. The Juvenile Probation Department offices are on the second floor. Business hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. There is an on call Juvenile Probation Officer 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

 

The Juvenile Probation Department services Douglas County, Nevada which covers an approximate area of 751 square miles and is located in Western Nevada. Bordered by California to the South, Carson City to the North, and Lyon County to the East.

 

The Juvenile Probation Department policies are in accordance with Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 62  for the Juvenile Courts. The department also meets standards recommended by the Nevada State Juvenile Justice Commission, The Nevada Institute for Children’s Research and Policy and the Federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

 

The Juvenile Probation Department is staffed by 9 full time POST Certified Juvenile Probation Officers, an Administrative Assistant and a part time Work Program Supervisor. The Juvenile Probation Team is a dedicated group of  professionals who supervise and average juvenile caseload of 90 youth on various levels of probation.
