Aerial Photography

Aerial photography of Douglas County is available for custom mapping purposes. The 2004, 2006, and 2007 flights are ortho-rectified while earlier flights were semi-rectified to the County's street centerline data and USGS DEM'S. The following datasets are available.

Color Photography

Carson Valley - 2004, 2007 & 2008 - color - 1' pixel - ortho-rectified

Lake Tahoe - 2004 & 2007 - color - 1' pixel - ortho-rectified*

Topaz Lake - 2006 - color - 1' pixel - ortho-rectified*

Black & White Photography

Topaz Lake - 2001 - b/w - 1' pixel - semi-rectified

Lake Tahoe - 2000 - b/w - 1' pixel - semi-rectified*

Carson Valley - 1999 - b/w - 1' pixel - semi-rectified

*The aerial photography of the Lake Tahoe and Pine Nut Mountain portions of Douglas County was acquired through a regional flyover and can only be purchased through Washoe County. To purchase this dataset please contact Marsha Cardinal at 775-328-2032, Washoe County GIS. To purchase the Carson Valley and Topaz Lake areas of Douglas County please contact Douglas County GIS or refer to the GIS order form.

Aerial photo files are in .TIF format and have the respective .TFW registration files available. All aerial photography is in a State Plane, NAD 83 coordinate system.
