  1. Summer Reading Program 2017 ~ Build a Better World

    June 1, 2017, 10:00 AM - July 31, 2017, 7:00 PM @ Minden Library and Zephyr Cove Library

    All children and teens are invited to participate in the 2017 Summer Reading Program. “Build a Better World” is this year’s theme with a children’s program for ages 0 to 11 and a teens’ program for ages 12 to 17.

    The program runs from June 1 to July 31 at the Minden and Zephyr Cove branches. Children and teens who participate will earn prizes while they maintain and build their reading skills during summer break.

    The online registration form can be filled out and printed from home through the library website, douglas.lib.nv.us, or at either branch.

  2. Adult Summer Reading Program

    Why should the kids get all the summer reading fun? The Douglas County Public Library is providing a Summer Reading Program for adults this July! Adults ages 18 and older may register at the Minden Library or the Zephyr Cove Library.

    Participants will get the opportunity to share their opinions on the books they read. There will be door prizes for every book or audio book completed, and participants will be entered in weekly drawings for more prizes and for a chance to win the grand prize, a Samsung tablet.

    Programs include a mug cake baking class and Bad Art Night.

  3. Toddler Storytime

    Toddler Storytime will continue at the Minden Library on Tuesdays June 6 through July 25 at 10:30 a.m. Felt board stories, songs and musical instruments are included. For children ages three and younger.

  4. Lego Build Tuesdays

    July 25, 2017, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM

    Put your master Lego builder skills to the test! The Minden Library will be hosting a Lego Build on Tuesdays from June 6 through July 25. Listen to a story and recreate it using Lego bricks.

    Lego bricks and building materials will be provided by the library. Lego Build Tuesdays are for children ages four and up. Exercise your creativity and build something awesome at the library! Lego Build Tuesdays are sponsored by the Friends of the Douglas County Public Library.
