  1. Winter Lego Building Challenge

    December 16, 2017, 10:00 AM - January 3, 2018, 7:00 PM @ Minden or Zephyr Cove Library

    Put your master Lego® builder skills to the test! The Douglas County Public Library will be holding a Winter Lego Building Challenge. Children, teens, and adults are invited to build an original Lego brick structure to enter in the contest. This year’s theme is “Magical Worlds.”

    The rules and entry forms can be found at the library or on the library’s Youth Services webpage. Bring your creation and your completed entry form to the Minden or the Zephyr Cove library.

    The Winter Lego Building Challenge is sponsored by the Friends of the Douglas County Public Library.

  2. READing Paws ~ Read with a Therapy Dog

    December 21, 2017, 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM

    A READing Paws therapy dog will be available at the Minden Library every Thursday afternoon between 3:30 and 5:30. Reading with animals can help children feel calm, gain confidence, and become strong readers.

    Children of all ages and reading levels are invited to read with a registered therapy dog and the dog’s handler. Each child will spend 15 minutes with a dog. Time slots are available on a first come, first serve basis.

    Parental permission is required, and permission forms are available at the library. This program is offered in partnership with READing Paws, a local affiliate of Intermountain Therapy Animals.
