Minden, NV – Douglas County has set a new date for the Board of County Commissioners special meeting to discuss public feedback on the strategic plan. The meeting takes place Monday, March 18 at 10 a.m. at the Historic Courthouse in Minden, located at 1616 8th St., Minden, NV 89423.
The meeting was originally scheduled for Friday, March 1, but was canceled due to a severe winter storm.
The March 18 meeting will hear items regarding Topaz Ranch Estates followed by the strategic plan item. The strategic plan item will not be heard before 1:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, and the community is encouraged to attend. Public comments about the plan may be made during the public-comment portion of the meeting.

At the January 18 BOCC meeting, commissioners directed County staff to publish a draft of the plan for one month for public review and comment, and to schedule a special meeting to review all of the feedback collected.
The draft strategic plan identifies the following areas of focus for the county: Balanced Growth & Infrastructure, Preserving Douglas County’s Natural Beauty and Rural Character, Serving Our Community, and Enhancing Residents’ Quality of Life. Within those four strategic objectives, the plan outlines specific goals and draft initiatives that will serve as a roadmap for resource allocation and decision-making for county leadership for the future during the next five years. It is designed to evolve over time in response to the changing needs of the organization and the community.
